L\u2019\u00e9ducation est le grand facteur d\u2019\u00e9galisation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dans les r\u00e9gions min\u00e9es par le conflit et la violence, l\u2019\u00e9ducation a le pouvoir d\u2019aider les habitants \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires afin d\u2019aider leurs communaut\u00e9s \u00e0 atteindre la paix et la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9. Notre philosophie rejoint celle de de Nelson Mandela qui d\u00e9clarait : \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019\u00e9ducation est l\u2019arme la plus puissante qu\u2019on puisse utiliser pour changer le monde.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Un aspect primordial de notre mission est de permettre aux membres de la communaut\u00e9 dans son ensemble \u2014 avec un int\u00e9r\u00eat particulier port\u00e9 aux jeunes et aux femmes \u2014 d\u2019apprendre tout au long de leur vie et de devenir des acteurs du changement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Au 21\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, le niveau d\u2019instruction est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 aux possibilit\u00e9s ouvertes par les technologies de l\u2019information et de la communication. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"ICT-education-and-technology-2\"<\/p>\n

La technologie moderne a r\u00e9volutionn\u00e9 nos capacit\u00e9s d\u2019interaction et notre acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019information. Elle nous a donn\u00e9 un niveau d\u2019acc\u00e8s in\u00e9dit \u00e0 la connaissance et aux ressources \u00e9ducatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mais les bienfaits de la technologie ne sont pas \u00e9galement r\u00e9partis \u00e0 travers le monde comme au sein des pays. D\u2019apr\u00e8s l\u2019Union internationale des t\u00e9l\u00e9communications (IUT), 90% de la population des pays d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s utilise internet. Dans les pays en d\u00e9veloppement, cette proportion chute \u00e0 57%. Dans les pays les moins avanc\u00e9s, elle ne repr\u00e9sente plus que 19%. Et ces taux sont encore plus bas dans les r\u00e9gions affect\u00e9es par les conflits et la violence qui sont celles o\u00f9 nous intervenons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans ces r\u00e9gions, WPDI s\u2019efforce d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 internet et aux ressources p\u00e9dagogiques qu\u2019il rec\u00e8le afin que les enfants, les jeunes et toute autre personne d\u00e9favoris\u00e9e puissent exploiter ces ressources \u00e9ducatives et ces outils de communication.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces technologies, de nouveaux horizons s\u2019offrent aux membres de ces communaut\u00e9s. Des connaissances jusque-l\u00e0 inaccessibles viennent enrichir leur existence, donner forme \u00e0 leurs aspirations et renforcer leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 promouvoir la paix au sein de leurs communaut\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n

Par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire des r\u00e9seaux sociaux et des plateformes num\u00e9riques d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es par WPDI, les enfants et les jeunes ont la possibilit\u00e9 de nouer des amiti\u00e9s nouvelles, d\u2019\u00e9changer des id\u00e9es et de cr\u00e9er des coalitions qui changeront peut-\u00eatre le monde.<\/span><\/p>\n
