The area is one of the poorest and most marginalized in France, with many young people having a troubled upbringing and little access to business initiatives focused on local development, community and peacebuilding. WPDI, following 6 months of research study and deliberations with local authorities, non-profit organizations and decision-makers in order to better understand the local context and the needs of local communities, launched our first event for local young entrepreneurs in Aubervilliers in November 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1478\" height=\"1108\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5383\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France.jpeg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France.jpeg 1478w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France-250x187.jpeg 250w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France-750x562.jpeg 750w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France-120x90.jpeg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1478px) 100vw, 1478px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event, entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pose ton id\u00e9e<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (\u201cShare your idea\u201d), was organized in partnership with local incubator <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/time2start.fr\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Time2Start<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It was an opportunity for 14 entrepreneurs to present their project to a jury of business experts, with 3 projects eventually being selected as winners. The winners received material aid to help them develop their project in the coming months. As for the remaining participants, they will receive further guidance and monitoring from WPDI to ensure the long term success of their projects. Proceeding in this fashion, we ensure that every participant in the process, not just the winners, gains from the process and is empowered as a changemaker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1946\" height=\"2048\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5390\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-scaled.jpg 1946w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-250x263.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-750x789.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-768x808.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-1459x1536.jpg 1459w, https:\/\/www.wpdi.org\/app\/uploads\/Community-Business-France2-120x126.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1946px) 100vw, 1946px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Such opportunities are much in demand in this area of the Parisian suburbs, and WPDI is committed to opening up new doors to underprivileged communities who will benefit from sustained initiatives focused on development.
