December 22, 2023 – <\/b>In early December, we held our first grant award ceremony in France, in the City of Saint-Ouen. On this occasion, our Business Bootcamp program emerged as a beacon of hope for people and communities with real ambition to encourage positive change and development by harnessing the transformative power of entrepreneurship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our ambition with this program is to empower individuals with practical skills that will help them on their quest for social innovation and economic independence. By imparting business knowledge, it not only cultivates self-sufficiency but also operates as a catalyst for positive societal change. Entrepreneurship, when nurtured in underserved areas, creates a ripple effect, generating jobs, creating services, enhancing community resilience, and fostering sustainable development. In this light, the Business Bootcamp embodies our belief that economic empowerment is a cornerstone for building lasting peace and fostering holistic development in marginalized communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This year, we were honored to hold our very first Business Bootcamp and Business Plan Competition in Aubvervilliers, France, where <\/span>we officially opened our first Community Learning Center (CLC) in the country back in May.<\/span><\/a> The program, made possible thanks to the support of BNP Paribas and Sony Music Group, was designed for women entrepreneurs from the Seine-Saint-Denis department, one of the poorest areas of France.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

21 trainees successfully completed a rigorous six-month business training program, marking a significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. Following this comprehensive training at our CLC, which includes entrepreneurship education complemented by aspects of Conflict Resolution Education (CRE) and ICT, the beneficiaries (most of whom were members of <\/span>Les Battantes, <\/span><\/i>part of our Women Livelihood program) underwent coaching and preparation through thanks to our Business Bootcamp team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Their preparation included refining their pitch skills under the guidance of expert advisors from our partner BNP Paribas. Subsequently, these aspiring entrepreneurs presented their projects to a distinguished jury comprising representatives from both the private sector, including BNP Paribas (Christopher Tetu), France Active<\/a> (Clotilde Califano) <\/span>and Devlhon<\/a> (Patrick Vernet)<\/span>, the public sector, represented by elected officials from Aubervilliers (Kourtoum Sackho) <\/span>and the Department (Chahrazed Tabti)<\/span>, as well as a business trainer and coach working with WPDI (Anrifa Hassani-Mze<\/span>), underscoring the program’s rootedness in the local socio-economic ecosystem and our commitment to work closely with local stakeholders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the 14 projects pitched, 9 emerged victorious, with 8 individual projects from our Women Livelihood Program and 1 standalone project, showcasing the tangible impact of this comprehensive training and mentorship program. In addition to receiving a grant to launch or accelerate their project, the winners will enter an incubation phase in early 2024, where they will be supported for one year by our business experts and partners.<\/span><\/p>\n

These fantastic entrepreneurs emerged as the distinguished winners of the competition, showcasing their exemplary business acumen and innovative ideas across diverse sectors and impressing the jury of experts. Among the successful ventures are Lyvie Enjoy Event, founded by Marie Russis, specializing in wedding planning; Remise en sc\u00e8ne, spearheaded by Elodie Watrin, focusing on artist coaching; Cin\u00e9afro Cin\u00e9mafro, initiated by Tissily Makhadji, dedicated to promoting African cinema; Miturila, founded by Keshia Koutekissa, specializing in herbal teas; La Fabrik \u00e0 R\u00eaves, led by Eleonore Luhaka, organizing wellness events and coaching sessions; Miki Good Hair, a salon curated by Mich\u00e8le Dia Ouahile; Parentevolu, an association supporting parenthood, founded by Ramata M\u2019Kha\u00eftir Konate; La Perle Wussulan, crafted by Asta Gadio, offering candles and fragrances; and NeoStart, led by Olivier Elizabeth, providing professional insertion counseling. These winning projects not only underscore the diversity of talent but also exemplify the transformative potential of entrepreneurship in various domains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winners were delighted at being given the opportunity to expand and develop their projects thanks to WPDI support.<\/span> \u201cThe support has allowed me to understand my business model and target audience. Today, I am particularly focused on the positioning of my brand, and communicating the universe of La Perle Wussulan remains my priority. The group energy and exchanges were also very interesting,<\/span><\/i>\u201d explained Asta Gadio.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement of the winners took place during a ceremony in the framework of the <\/span>Forum Emploi et Entrepreneuriat pour toutes <\/span><\/i>in Saint-Ouen, just north of Paris, co-organized by WPDI, France Active and the <\/span>Mairie de Saint-Ouen<\/span><\/i>. The event was <\/span>dedicated to employment and entrepreneurship for everyone and explored panel discussions, exhibitions, workshops, networking sessions! We were also honored by the presence of the Mayor of Saint-Ouen, <\/span>Karim Bouamrane.<\/span><\/p>\n

We wish the 9 winners of the WPDI France first Business Plan Competition, as well as all the trainees who have completed the training program, the greatest success in their projects. The entrepreneurship training programs at WPDI will continue next year, with the opening of new cohorts scheduled for March 2024.<\/p>\n

22 d\u00e9cembre 2023<\/strong> – D\u00e9but d\u00e9cembre, WPDI France a tenu sa premi\u00e8re c\u00e9r\u00e9monie d’annonce des laur\u00e9ats du premier concours de pitch projets, dans la ville de Saint-Ouen. \u00c0 cette occasion, notre programme de formation en entrepreneuriat s’est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 \u00eatre un phare d’espoir pour les personnes et les communaut\u00e9s ayant une v\u00e9ritable ambition d’encourager le changement positif et le d\u00e9veloppement en exploitant le pouvoir transformateur de l’entrepreneuriat.<\/p>\n

Avec ce programme, notre ambition est de donner aux participants des outils et des comp\u00e9tences pratiques qui les aideront dans leur qu\u00eate d’innovation sociale et d’ind\u00e9pendance \u00e9conomique. L’entrepreneuriat, lorsqu’il est encourag\u00e9 dans les zones d\u00e9favoris\u00e9es, agit \u00e9galement comme un catalyseur pour un changement soci\u00e9tal positif : cela g\u00e9n\u00e8re des emplois, cr\u00e9e des services, renforce la r\u00e9silience du quartier et favorise le d\u00e9veloppement durable. Dans cette optique, notre programme de formation en entrepreneuriat incarne notre conviction que l’autonomisation \u00e9conomique est un pilier pour construire une paix durable et favoriser un d\u00e9veloppement holistique dans les zones marginalis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Cette ann\u00e9e, nous avons eu l’honneur de lancer notre tout premier programme de formation en entrepreneuriat et tenir le premier concours de pitch projets \u00e0 Aubervilliers, en Seine-Saint-Denis, o\u00f9 nous avons ouvert notre premier Centre de formation d’Europe en avril dernier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vingt et une apprenant.es ont suivi avec succ\u00e8s le programme de formation intensif de six mois, marquant une \u00e9tape importante dans leur parcours entrepreneurial. \u00c0 la suite de cette formation qui comprend une \u00e9ducation \u00e0 l’entrepreneuriat compl\u00e9t\u00e9e par de la Gestion des Relations Humaines et des cours d’Informatique, les b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires (dont la plupart \u00e9taient membres des Battantes<\/a>, notre programme pour l’entrepreneuriat f\u00e9minin, \u00ab\u00a0Women Livelihood Program\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>) ont suivi un coaching et une pr\u00e9paration gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 notre \u00e9quipe du programme de formation en entrepreneuriat.<\/p>\n

Leur pr\u00e9paration comprenait le perfectionnement de leurs comp\u00e9tences en pitch sous la direction de conseillers experts de notre partenaire BNP Paribas. Par la suite, ces aspirants entrepreneurs ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 leurs projets \u00e0 un jury compos\u00e9 de repr\u00e9sentants du secteur priv\u00e9, notamment BNP Paribas (Christopher Tetu)<\/span>, France Active<\/a> (Clotilde Califano) <\/span>et Devlhon<\/a> (Patrick Vernet)<\/span>, du secteur public, repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par des \u00e9lus d’Aubervilliers (Kourtoum Sackho) <\/span>et du Conseil D\u00e9partemental de la Seine-Saint-Denis (Chahrazed Tabti), ainsi qu’une coach et formatrice en entrepreneuriat (Anrifa Hassani-Mze)<\/span>, soulignant l’ancrage du programme dans l’\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me socio-\u00e9conomique local et notre engagement \u00e0 travailler en \u00e9troite collaboration avec les parties prenantes locales.<\/p>\n

Parmi les 14 projets pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s, 9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retenus, dont 8 issus du programme Les Battantes et 1 issu du programme A la Carte. En plus de recevoir une bourse pour lancer ou acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer leur projet, les laur\u00e9ats entreront d\u00e9but 2024 dans une phase d’incubation o\u00f9 ils seront accompagn\u00e9s pendant un an par nos experts en entrepreneuriat et nos partenaires.<\/p>\n

Les 9 laur\u00e9ats du concours ont su s\u00e9duire le jury d’experts, d\u00e9montrant leurs comp\u00e9tences, leur ambition entrepreneuriale et leurs id\u00e9es innovantes dans des secteurs diversifi\u00e9s. L’annonce des gagnants a eu lieu dans le cadre du Forum Emploi et Entrepreneuriat pour toutes<\/a> le 5 d\u00e9cembre dernier \u00e0 Saint-Ouen, co-organis\u00e9 par WPDI, France Active et la Mairie de Saint-Ouen. L’\u00e9v\u00e9nement \u00e9tait d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 l’emploi et \u00e0 l’entrepreneuriat pour tous et proposait des panels de discussion, des expositions, des ateliers, et du networking. Nous avons \u00e9galement eu l’honneur de la pr\u00e9sence du maire de Saint-Ouen, Karim Bouamrane.<\/p>\n
