May 14, 2025 – We are thrilled to announce that the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI) has partnered witn the Judicate West Foundation to support the continued growth of our Domestic Harmonizer Program (DHP)!
The DHP is WPDI’s flagship conflict resolution and social-emotional learning initiative serving schools mainly in Southern California. With this grant, WPDI will expand DHP’s reach, providing training to new student peer mediators, equipping most educators and parents, and positively impacting hundreds of students in underserved communities.
“This partnership comes at a pivotal time,” says Monya Kian, WPDI’s Domestic Program Director. “With Judicate West Foundation’s support, we’ll be able to deepen our impact in schools where students face real challenges and help them turn conflict into an opportunity for growth, empathy, and leadership.”
WPDI is proud to collaborate with educational institutions dedicated to building inclusive and peaceful learning environments. Through interactive workshops, peer mediation training, restorative practice support, and innovative tools from our Domestic Harmonizer Virtual Center, the program helps entire school communities develop the skills to resolve conflict constructively.
Judicate West Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance access to the courts and improve public understanding of the judicial system and conflict resolution in schools. The Foundation places a strong emphasis on empowering youth with tools to peacefully navigate conflict, often supporting school-based initiatives that align with restorative justice and civic education.
