Forest Whitaker will actively contribute to the next session of the Davos World Economic Forum. He has been invited to participate in a series of events and interviews that his followers can livestream on the web.
The Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI) proudly invites you to follow our Founder-CEO, Forest Whitaker at the 2017 Davos World Economic Forum. He will share his experiences as artist and humanitarian and his vision for the peace in a number of livestreamed events and sessions that his followers can access directly on the web.
On Monday 16 January (6:30pm – 6:45pm CET), he will receive the prestigious Annual Crystal Award, which honors artists whose important contributions are improving the state of the world and who best represent the “spirit of Davos”. Forest Whitaker will be honored during the opening session of the Davos Annual Meeting 2017 with two other awardees: violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter (Germany) and singer/songwriter Shakira (Colombia). Also on Tuesday, in the afternoon (4:00pm – 5pm CET), Forest Whitaker will participate in the interactive panel session “The New Lead Characters”. At this session for artists to spell their views on the diversity and complexity of our world, Forest will share the floor with choreographer Jin Xing (China), producer Karan Johar (India) and Filmmaker Haifaa Al Mansour (Saudi Arabia). On Wednesday 18 January (08:45am – 09:30am CET), Forest Whitaker will engage in a one-on-one conversation with BBC World News presenter Zeinab Badawi. Forest will elaborate on fostering peace and reconciliation in disadvantaged and fragile communities around the globe. This session will be livestreamed on TopLink and the Forum website (http://wef.ch/82336).
On the same day (12:15pm CET), Forest Whitaker will be interviewed in the CNBC morning show “Squawk Box” co-hosted by Joe Kernen, Rebecca Quick, and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The 5-minute interview will be aired on the livestream page of CNBC (http://www.cnbc.com/live-tv/?trknav=navigation:livetv:watch-cnbc-tv:100563680).
