We extend a heartfelt invitation to join us in making a meaningful impact today in some of the most challenged places of the world. As an initiative dedicated to creating sustainable peace in regions affected by conflict and poverty, WPDI strongly believes in the power of rooting our action in partnerships with local organizations.
These partnerships allow us to tap into the invaluable knowledge, expertise, and cultural insights of local organizations. This is key for tailoring our peacebuilding, educational, and livelihood programs to address the unique needs of each community. Such commitment with local stakeholders can only happen if we can maintain a continuous long-term presence on the ground. This can include, for example, extending the lifetime of a project that has generated successes that local communities want to build upon. The support of our donors is crucial in this respect.
WPDI’s mission, inspired by the UN’s vision, recognizes that sustainable development and sustaining peace are two sides of the same coin, driving our commitment to empower communities in conflict-affected regions. WPDI is presently active in six countries: South Sudan, Uganda, South Africa, Mexico, the United States, and France.
